True Summer
Also called Cool Summer.
True Summer is the coolest of the soft seasons. It suits coloring with a clearly cool cast but gentle contrast — ash-toned hair, skin with pink or rosy undertones, and eyes in cool blues, grays, and slate greens. Where Winter coloring demands sharp color, Summer coloring asks for the same coolness with the edges rounded off.
Periwinkle, watermelon, light cool violet, and charcoal blue feel like cool water and heather. Soft grays and cool white take the place of stark white and black. The balance is what makes it work: cool without being icy, soft without being dusty.
Its sister seasons sit on either side of that balance: Soft Summer mutes these colors further, while Light Summer lifts and lightens them. If this palette feels right but a shade too strong, try Light Summer first.

Wearing it
Build the wardrobe on cool white, dove grey, and pewter, with blue spruce grey as your dark anchor instead of black. Gray-blue neutrals are this season’s signature move.
One cool color on one soft neutral makes the outfit: periwinkle with cool white, or watermelon against dove grey. The palette rewards calm combinations over bold ones.
Skip orange and golden brown. Warmth is the one thing this coloring cannot borrow. Reach for rose pink and lagoon blue when you want the look to lift.
Sister seasons: Soft Summer and Light Summer.
