About ShopYourHue
ShopYourHue exists because of a simple, frustrating truth about shopping: most of what’s in any store isn’t in your colors. Seasonal color analysis sorts human coloring into twelve seasons — four families (Winter, Summer, Autumn, Spring), each split three ways by depth, warmth, and clarity. When you know your season, you know which shades make your skin look clearer and which wash you out. What you don’t get is a store organized around that knowledge. That’s the gap we built this site to fill.
Here’s how it works. Every season has a defined palette — a set of anchor colors that capture its character, from an Icy Fuchsia that belongs to Bright Winter to the Mushroom Taupe that belongs to Soft Summer. When we add a garment to the store, we analyze its actual color and compare it against those palettes using perceptual color distance, the same kind of math used in color science to measure how different two shades look to the human eye. A piece is only tagged with a season if its color genuinely sits inside that season’s range. Choose your palette on the shop page and everything you see has already passed that check.
We choose what to feature independently. Items come from retailers we’d shop at ourselves, and a garment earns its place by its color and its usefulness in a working wardrobe — not by who sells it. Some of the links on this site are affiliate links, which means we may earn a commission when you buy through them, at no extra cost to you; you can read exactly how that works in our affiliate disclosure. Commissions never decide what gets tagged with which season.
If you don’t know your season yet, start with our guide to the twelve seasons — each palette has its own page with every anchor color laid out, so you can see the whole range rather than a few swatches. And if you want outfit ideas and new finds as we add them, we share those on Instagram and TikTok.
